Friday Fun Find: WoodWick Candles

I don't know what it is about pretty jars of things you can light on fire that smell good, but DAMMIT candles are addicting! When I heard about candles with wooden wicks that sounded like an actual fireplace, I knew I was a goner.

This audio is a bit misleading, making it sound much louder than it actually is, but still, pretty cool, right?? The wick is actually made of wood! Being an apartment dweller, fireplaces are few and far between, but I like this as a substitute for the soothing crackle of a fireplace.

I went with vanilla bourbon, 'cus normally that's pretty up my alley. It has a really large reach and has made our whole apartment smell like things that remind you of your rich grandfather's house (or that creepy neighbor who spends way too much time at the playground)--booze and candy. I've been lighting the candle almost every night for several hours at a time, and I'm still not even halfway through it, so it has an incredibly long burn time.

Also cool about WoodWick is that the candles are made in Virginia, so they're local, which I feel pretty good about.
