Something Blue

{Dress: French Connection; Belt: Express-similar; Shoes: Sam Edelman; Bag: Foley & Corinna}

Last weekend, Kyle and I attended our first wedding of the season. Is it me, or is EVERYONE getting married this year? Well, everyone except the gays, because apparently they're the ones who would ruin the sanctity of marriage, not the Kim Kardashians, Elizabeth Taylors, and Britney Spears' of the world. smh. Regardless, the weddings are starting to pile up.

I'll say this to all you upcoming weddings: you have a lot to live up to following the one Kyle and I went to last weekend. I loved that the couple chose a venue for both the ceremony and the reception (that whole waiting two hours between ceremony and reception thing has GOT to stop). They also had several of their own unique touches, including a great officiant, a wine box situation, and a groomsman who nearly fainted during the exchanging of the rings. It was awesome! But most of all, the food was perfect.
Let's face it: all my good Paleo choices went straight out the window for the wedding. I ate more of these canapes than anyone should truly ever know about. But I mean, do you see that hash brown topped with salmon in the back there??? They have powers that I just couldn't overcome. And the cake...? OMG, I can't even talk about the cake right now. I'll get too emotional.
Kyle was the perfect date, as usual. And even though I promised myself I didn't need to buy a dress for the wedding, I figured now was no time to start practicing restraint, which is precisely why I picked up this blue ombre number. Taking advantage of the 20% off Friends and Family discount at Bloomie's was justification enough for me.
...And because I know y'all love pictures of me lookin' a damn fool, enjoy:
If looking this good is wrong, then lock me up and throw away the key, honey boo boo child!

What's your philosophy on buying a new dress for a wedding? Is it a must?? Are you an outfit repeater??

I'm an outfit repeater *gasp* I know! But luckily a lot of my friends have gotten married different years so the repeats were far enough from each other.

However, holy frijoles this is the year of weddings for me. I've got 6 and now can't repeat! DRAT! Thank heavens for borrowing from friends and coupons!

Happy weds! I love the blue dress, so pretty! xoxo

Yup. Yup and YUP! Kyle does look like the perfect date and when I go to any occasion I find myself buying something new. Like Easter Brunch this sunday - oops.

Love the dress! Also, I just spit out my coffee at my desk when reading that line and was subsequently forced to YouTube my fave Toddlers in Tiara clip. Not a bad start to my humpday!

You look gorgeous! Blue is your colour for sure :-)

I will repeat but only if it's absolutely necessary - aka I haven't had time. I see it as an "excuse" - any excuse really to buy a new dress :)
Much love, Bailey from Vanilla Blonde

I do the same thing, I need a new dress for every event that involves pictures for fear of being documented in the same outfit twice.. completely irrational.

Anyway you look so pretty! I totally was stalking those Sam Edelmans for a while but couldn't pull the trigger, they are so HOT!

XO,
Erin

I love your dress! One of the best parts of going to a wedding for me are the new outfits but I have to say I have so many pretty dresses and skirts and tops I really should start wearing them to other weddings of people who definitely weren't at the first wedding obviously ;)

I need a new dress for just about every damn thing I do. I'm a SAHM, if I'm leaving the house without the kid I guarantee you I am at least 15% over dressed.

i can't wait for your pale challenge to be over. so then we can drink together.

and eat together.

and be friends again.

it is too hard to be friends with someone who doesn't drink.

too hard.
