CoverGirl VolumeExact 2012--Make it Famous

For any of y'all using CoverGirl VolumeExact, brace yourselves--it's been discontinued. In the words of Cher Horowitz, "I feel impotent and out of control," so I did what anyone in my position of dispair would do: I vlogged about it.

AHAHAHAH, the carrot part. The credits too. And everything in between.

I use CoverGirl 24 hour because it basically glues to your eyelashes and well, I cry a lot.

JK, I accidentally bought it, but now I'm oddly obsessed with how it stays on SO INTENSELY.

And you've see my lashes. They're my best friends.

I used to use covergirl VolumeExact too, but recently made the switch to L'Oreal Voluminous,CHANGED MY LIFE FOR REAL.

I've been using L'Oreal Voluminous and it's pretty great. It's definitely not under ten bucks in NYC, but neither is a stick of gum so you may have some luck in your city.

Noooooo! I loved this mascara so much. Guess I'll just have to find a new one :(

This made me laugh so much!

And I know your pain--I refuse to spend loads on a mascara and I had one i loved it was by rimmel in a black tube with pink and it worked so well and when I got a new one something about it had changed and now its rubbish and I need to find a new one--gutted!

I HATE when this happens, L'Oreal discontinued my favorite mascara last year (Volume Shocking) and I STILL have not found one that rivals it (even fancy pants $30 a tube brands.. I have tried everything).

Max Factor actually has some pretty decent formulas (2000 calorie) and I've been using L'Oreal Double Extend which is okay.

Good luck!

I used Maybelline GREAT LASH (the pink bottle) for a really long time and loved it. It's cheap.

I also used the L'oreal double wand extender?!!? Yeah, don't remember the real name but my lashes were HUGE! draw back, you have a highlight and then the mascara and it's right at $10. So you probably won't even look it up.

GOOD LUCK! MASCARA is so important!

Best vlog ever!!! Hilarious! I am currently using Rimmel London. I switch between Extra WOW Lash and Sexy Curves Full Body. I get it at Target, I think Ulta carries Rimmel products as well.

phahahaha... the credits!!!

ok this just in... my sister has a make up artist friend who says that lancome and loreal is the exact same company?? and she said loreal voluminous is the nest thing that has happened to her face... cant comment on the price but she friend says its the exact same "recipe" as the lancome masacra so pretty much you are saving money already!

Oh my god, I can't stop laughing.

I'm so with you. I refuse to buy department store mascaras for the simple fact that the drugstore ones are just as good, if not better. I'm a firm believer in that.

I actually haven't used VolumeExact, but I will say that I LOVE Maybelline's Full n Soft mascara. I've been using it for years and it's amazing. It does everything I want it to (thickens, lengthens, doesn't smudge or flake at the end of the day, etc.). And YES, it's under $10!!!

I love LashBlast Fusion in the purple tube! I buy it in brown. Of course, I've been using Latisse since last August and my lashes are Ah-Maz-Ing!!!!! I dye them black and they look fantastic all by their little naked selves. I just barely touch the mascara to them and I am good to go.

Gayla, did you have any problems with you eye color getting darker?? They scare you when you want to try it that your actual eyes will darken? I want to try it!!

Gayla said...

Taylor, no I have not had any iris pigmentation problems at all. I know several people using Latisse and non of them had that problem, either. My stepfather uses the drop in his eye for glaucoma and his eyes are still bright blue, but his lashes are crazy long! I say go for it! The little bottle will actually last you three months. You will run out of applicators if you throw them away after one use. My dr. told me to reuse the applicators, each one three times and you will get three months out of it that way. Just be smart about it, obviously. And you only need one drop to do both eyes, because it really takes about 1/5 a drop to do each eye, but you can't dispense such a small amount. I even run it over my eyebrows after I do my lashes, and they have filled in and look great, too!

I use Maybelline Great Lash BIG (because my eyelashes are the only things on me that aren't plus sized, go figure). I love it but my friend has been recommending Maybelline Falsies Volume Express... blah blah blah it's a long title. The bottle is purple and fat like the one you hated BUT the actual wand is thin and the brush has longer bristles and is curved like the one you didn't mind. It's also $5. Falsies has a bunch of 5 star reviews online so maybe they're on to something...?

I can relate to this video. I HATE when things become discontinued! I heard one of my favorite lip glosses was going away. I was that girl in target stocking up on it like the world was about to end and i needed soft baby lips

I use FALSIES! It makes my baby eye lashes look like my boyfriends eyelashes. He was blessed with girly lashes that he doesnt even need! I mean really

I am so in love with your blog and so glad I found ya! cant wait to read more!

Hahahahah I cannot stop laughing at this, I love a melodramatic rant :) - You should do a whats in my purse vlog! They're over done but so good, and yours would surely be hilarious xxx

I love your vlogs. You need to keep doing them!!! LOL

Okay, so I recently picked up the L'Oreal Voluminous False Lashes in Waterproof (the gold one on those commercials with Gwen Stefani) and I REALLY REALLY like it. It might replace my beloved Maybelline Falsies!!!

I was so sad when I found out Volume Exact was being discontinued. So sad that I googled it and ended up finding your vlog. I've only been using it for a year or so, but I love it!

But it turns out that CoverGirl Lash Perfection is incredibly similar. Here's a comparison of the 2 wands: http://canadianbeauty.com/covergirl-lash-perfection-mascara-review/. So that's what I'm using now instead.

If that doesn't work for you, you can always stock up on Volume Exact on eBay (it should definitely be less than $8 there) and that can last you for a few months :)

right, i'm living on mascara samples from sephora -- but BEFORE that, I remember really loving Maybelline Falsies. The Blackest Black was REALLY dark, it was lengthening and thickening and when you washed it off, it came off in weird little roll-off fibre type things which I found oddly fascinating. I felt like it kept it from smudging on my face during the day.

If you really love the brush I say save the brush/applicator thingie and clean it so you can use it with other mascaras and test drive formulas. You may actually like the formulas and it's just the brush (I'm talking about you lash fusion!) other then that I enjoy the stiletto as well as the revlon grow luscious voluminous my lashes have gotten so full ;)

Happy hunting
