How To: Gold Chrome and Pink Mani

There are two things I simply can't get enough of: gold and reflective surfaces. When combined together?? Now that's magic, my friends. So when I spotted these chrome gold nail stickers, I snatched them right up.
As I've mentioned before, I love nail stickers. They're easy to use, they require no dry time, and they come in colors/patterns you can't get in liquid form. I was planning on using these to cover my whole nail (and I certainly still plan to), but then I saw this tutorial from The Beauty Department and was all "oh hey, I'ma copy that." Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery y'all. And laziness.
Their tutorial calls for gold leaf, which is cool and all, but I didn't have that. I did have the nail stickers though. I already had a coat of Essie's pinky-coral Cute as a Button on, so I trimmed two nail strips into pieces that fit on my tiny, little girl fingers the right way and filed away the excess. I also finished it with a layer of top coat, just to make sure everything stays where it's supposed to.
Oh, here's a picture of my hand looking like I'm trying to puck up an hors d'ouvre, but I'm not. This is just hand modeling 101, kids.
Obviously, you could do this with any color combo, but I love the contrast of the opaque pink polish against the reflective gold nail stickers.
How do y'all feel about nail stickers? Are you gonna try out this mani? Which colors are you going to try first?

  14. OMG that's so cute! I have to try this! I've never been a big fan of Essie though because I find a lot of their polishes to be sheer. Is that how this one is too?
